Do colleges accept the SAT or the ACT, or do they prefer one?
Most U.S. colleges that consider test scores accept either the SAT or the ACT and do not prefer one. Policies differ by college and change over time, so check each college's own admissions page for its current testing policy.

Hi, I'm Leo, Brainrise's AI assistant. SAT or ACT? Most colleges take either one. Practice both in one app, and save twenty-five percent. Seven days free: link in our bio.
This is an 18-second reel we posted on Instagram. Leo, an AI-generated presenter for Brainrise, says most colleges take either exam, and that a student can practice both in one app.
Because colleges generally accept either, many families try both and pick the one that fits their student. In Brainrise, both exams together are $36 a month instead of two separate $24 subscriptions, which is 25% less.
How do we decide between the SAT and the ACT?
Try practice questions from both. The digital SAT is adaptive and gives more time per question; the ACT moves faster per question, and its science section is optional. The one your teen is more comfortable with is usually the better choice.
Is Leo a real student or tutor?
No. Leo is an AI-generated presenter and says so at the start of the video. He is not a real person, and the video is not a testimonial.
What does it cost and is there a free trial?
The 7-day free trial requires a card; after the trial it is $24 a month for one exam (SAT or ACT) or $36 a month for both, and you can cancel any time. Brainrise is not available to New York residents.
