What should a student do when stuck on an SAT math question late at night?

Mark it, move on, and come back to it with the written explanation instead of staring at it. Seeing each step of the reasoning is more useful than only finding out which letter was right.

Our post pictured the moment every student knows: the homework is done, it is late, and one SAT math question will not go away.

In Brainrise every practice question has a step-by-step explanation a student can read on their phone, whenever they are studying.

Should a student keep working on one hard question for a long time?

Usually not. On a timed test, a question that is eating the clock is better flagged and revisited, and in practice it is better to read the explanation, then try a similar question.

Does Brainrise explain wrong answers?

Yes. Every question has a written, step-by-step explanation, and it is there whether the student got the question right or wrong.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Brainrise is built to be used on a phone as well as a computer. The 7-day free trial requires a card; after the trial it is $24 a month for one exam (SAT or ACT) or $36 a month for both, and you can cancel any time. Brainrise is not available to New York residents.
