Do I need to be good at math to help my teen with SAT prep?

No. A parent does not have to solve the problems to help. The most useful things a parent can do are keep a steady study routine, ask supportive questions, and check progress, and Brainrise's parent-side pages (progress, billing and help) are also available in Spanish.

Our post to parents said exactly this: you do not have to be a math expert to help. Support looks like routine and encouragement, not teaching algebra at the kitchen table.

In Brainrise the practice questions are in English, as they are on the real SAT and ACT. Everything a parent uses (progress, billing and help) can be read in Spanish.

Are the practice questions available in Spanish?

No. The questions are in English, like the real SAT and ACT. The parent-facing parts of the app (progress, billing and help) are available in Spanish.

What can a parent do if they don't remember the math?

Help the student pick a regular time to practice, ask what felt hard rather than what the score was, and read the written explanation together when the student is stuck.

Is there a free trial?

The 7-day free trial requires a card; after the trial it is $24 a month for one exam (SAT or ACT) or $36 a month for both, and you can cancel any time. Brainrise is not available to New York residents.

SAT® is a registered trademark of College Board and ACT® of ACT, Inc.; neither endorses Brainrise. Brainrise does not promise any score.
